Dr. Heather MacRae, ND
Dr. Heather MacRae, ND is a graduate of the University of Guelph and, twenty years later, the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. In her more than ten years of practice as a Naturopathic Doctor, Heather has developed strong passions for acupuncture, botanical medicine, and nutrition.
Trained in three styles of acupuncture, Heather supports clients experiencing pain, anxiety, insomnia, addiction recovery, weight changes, digestive distress, autoimmune and neurodegenerative conditions, PMS, peri-menopause, and more. Time on the table often becomes an opportunity to discuss how nutrition, supplements, and botanical medicine can complement treatment. Bodywork, nutritional approaches, and plant-based therapeutics can all serve as valuable adjuncts to other care you may be receiving.
A long-time Guelph resident of 30 years, Heather is deeply committed to making naturopathic care accessible for all. She provides compassionate, trauma-informed support to individuals and families, and her work with people with disabilities has given her meaningful insight into wellness across diverse life experiences.
Heather’s love of alternative medicine began with the warm, holistic approach of midwifery care, which naturally led her toward naturopathic medicine. Her fascination with seeds, growing, harvesting, and creating remedies aligns beautifully with her philosophy of movement-rich living, whole foods, and a grounded connection to the natural world.
Heather lives with one of her three grown children and four four-legged companions. Radical self-care has carried her through difficult chapters of life, and she finds nourishment in photographing nature, writing poetry, making music, and growing, cooking, and sharing food. These practices bring her deep joy and whole-body wellness — something she is eager to help her clients discover for themselves.
