Eleanor Crook, M.ED, RP
Eleanor (she/they) is a Registered Psychotherapist with a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of Ottawa. After being misdiagnosed twice in high school, she was finally diagnosed with ADHD in adulthood; an experience that deepened her understanding of how hard it can be to access support, and how exhausting masking can feel while trying to navigate a neurotypical world.
As a nonbinary therapist, Eleanor strives to honour each client’s lived experience, especially in relation to systemic oppression and identity. She works collaboratively with clients to create therapy goals that reflect their unique values, needs, and ways of experiencing the world.
Eleanor has training and experience in trauma and abuse recovery, anxiety, stress, depression, and suicidal thoughts. She provides individual therapy for adults and youth, as well as relationship counselling for couples, polycules, and families experiencing conflict. She understands that neurodiversity touches every aspect of life and often intersects with other identities, such as gender, sexuality, and race, in ways that shape how we move through the world. She is especially passionate about supporting LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities.
Outside of work, Eleanor is both a writer and reader of sci-fi and fantasy, enjoys video games and tabletop RPGs, and regularly cycles through creative hobbies; currently, miniature painting and candle-making.
Eleanor is currently accepting clients.
