Somdatta Chattopadhyay, MA (cand.), RP (Qualifying)

Therapy  & Coaching

Picture
Somdatta is a therapist who believes life isn’t about fitting into the box—it’s about flipping the box over, turning it into a fort, and making it your own. Armed with two Master’s degrees—one in Applied Psychology from the University of Calcutta and another in Counselling Psychology underway at Yorkville University—she blends expertise with a playful, heartfelt approach to therapy. Living with cerebral palsy, Somdatta has firsthand experience navigating a world that often overlooks physical disabilities, and she’s passionate about creating spaces where everyone, regardless of ability, can feel seen, heard, and celebrated.

Her personal journey has shaped her into a therapist who truly gets it. Whether helping individuals with ADHD and Autism embrace their neurodivergence or supporting those managing the complexities of physical disabilities, Somdatta meets her clients with compassion and creativity. She excels at breaking down big challenges into bite-sized wins, always celebrating the quirks and strengths that make each person unique. Therapy with her is more than a conversation—it’s a collaboration where you uncover strategies to thrive in a way that feels authentic to you.

When she’s not with clients, Somdatta loves singing with wild abandon, writing to explore the depths of her own mind, or scrolling through endless dog videos on Instagram (her happy place). She knows the frustration of procrastination and the pull of a comfy couch when life feels overwhelming, and she’s here to help you turn those moments into opportunities for growth—without losing your sense of humour along the way.

Somdatta’s philosophy is simple: Your quirks are your superpowers, your challenges are just stepping stones, and therapy is where you learn to turn the world into a place that works for you. Whether you’re building forts or breaking barriers, she’s here to cheer you on every step of the way.
