Jamie Rechtsman, MA (cand.), RP (Qualifying)
Therapy & Coaching

Jamie is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and Counselling Intern with a passion for empowering neurodivergent individuals to thrive. Currently completing a master’s-level practicum in counselling psychology, Jamie also brings over a decade of experience as an Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) with a Master’s in Child Study & Education from the University of Toronto. As someone with ADHD, Jamie knows firsthand the frustration of feeling overwhelmed, scattered, or stuck in seemingly unbreakable patterns. Like many women with ADHD, she were misdiagnosed as a child because her symptoms looked more like anxiety and inattention than textbook hyperactivity. This personal journey of understanding and working with her neurodivergent brain (instead of against it) has shaped Jamie’s approach to therapy, making it a safe and empowering space for clients to embrace their unique strengths while tackling challenges like anxiety, self-esteem, relationships, and executive function skills (think planning, organization, and finally tackling that to-do list).
When Jamie isn’t helping clients navigate life’s challenges, she's living life to the fullest—alongside her two adorable dogs, Timmy and Zeus. Whether experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, playing board games with friends and family, or embracing adventurous new hobbies like kayaking, ziplining, or white-water rafting, Jamie knows how to bring a sense of playfulness to everything she does. Once a self-described shy, anxious person (who didn’t even learn to ride a bike until adulthood!), Jamie now loves finding joy in the unexpected and believes in the transformative power of humor and curiosity.
Jamie is also a firm believer in Einstein’s wise words: “Everyone is a genius. But if you judge a fish on its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” Therapy with Jamie is about finding your genius and letting it shine.
