Lauren Stein, MA
ADHD & Asperger's Counsellor and Coach

Lauren Stein MA specializes in ADHD & Asperger's/ASD and has a Master's degree in Expressive Arts Therapy from the European Graduate School in Switzerland, as well as many certifications in a variety of therapeutic modalities. She was diagnosed with ADHD in grade 4 and shares many traits of Asperger's Syndrome. Lauren is grateful to her neurodiversity for her endless creativity, silly sense of humor, and… she forgets what else. Implementing her background in improv theatre, she has been working with ImprovAbility to deliver Social Improv workshops to teens and young adults with autism.
In addition to her specialization in ADHD and Asperger's/ASD, Lauren's work and training provides her with a breadth of knowledge and experience to draw from when working with people from a variety of backgrounds and life experiences.
She has worked at the psychiatric ward of Toronto General Hospital; with grief and end-of-life transitions with Hospice Toronto; with survivors of human trafficking in Nepal; and queer, trans, poly, and kink identities in her training with Sexual Attitude Reassessment. She also has a lot of expertise in working with clients seeking help with Video Game and Technology addiction.
While building her counselling practice, Lauren clowned with Patch Adams at hospitals in Costa Rica, spent a month in a circus farm in Hawaii, and toured her one-woman show to Australia and New Zealand. She has also written a book about the therapeutic benefits of expressive arts on tech industry worker mental health and social relationships. Using a framework of fun, Lauren believes that people have the capacity to play within any boundaries or stresses that life gives them, and become more resilient for it..
